August 19, 2019Vedic Astrology uses seven (7) Planets- Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Two more planets in addition, though not planets but since they are very powerful magnetic influences – as powerful as a small planet and originate when the paths of Earth and Moon cross each other they are called Rahu and Ketu. The total planets in the Vedic system are nine.
Every planet carries both good and bad influences / qualities. In Vedic Astrology they are called Dosha or nature these are Vatta or the quality of Air, Pitta or the quality of Heat and third is Kapha or the quality lubrication. Entire earth is under the influence of the “TRI DOSHAS”, plants, animals and humans. They are both good and bad. For example if the element of Kapha is balanced a person will have good lubrication in the veins and joints. Blood flows well thru the veins and the movement of joints and body parts is also smooth. However if the Kapha becomes a problem/dosha then the veins will get clogged and blockages will trouble which can get worse. The joints in the body will also be painful and their movements restricted. This happens to the nervous system also and we all can guess what is next.. These imbalances occur due to the following reasons…
- The imbalances/Dosha one is born with through the gene pool – which can be read from the natal Vedic chart.
- Continues planetary movements influencing these Dosha, enhancing or balancing them due to the movements of the planets influencing each other too.
- Changes in the seasons and weather. The summer causes Pitta, winter Vatta and spring Kapha.
- Eating habits- majorly responsible for Vatta, Pitta, Kapha.
- Life style disorders.
Out of the above five only two can be controlled by us humans – life style and eating habits. Rest is Gods will as the masters say!
To understand the other three – Vedic birth chart is helpful as it can predict disease, sickness and other imbalances caused by planets and their movements. As always these energies are of good and bad nature. Health of any living being is to be analyzed on three levels, Body, Mind and soul. Ayurveda is based on these principles of Tri Dosha and also understand the relation between health of body, mind and soul. Plant extracts, minerals, metals and Yoga are used to balance the body, mind and soul. The higher form of correction is done through Mantras and Meditation.

As a best Astrologer can predict the health of an individual using the Vedic chart so can a good Ayurveda master do just by analyzing the pulse of a person. In the olden days an Astrologer was a good Ayurveda master too and vice versa. The combination of Astrology and Ayurveda is excellent for a healthy society.
The use of Meditative techniques, Yoga, Mantras, Breathing exercises help in balancing the chakras, which balance the soul, which balances the mind, which finally balances the body. Modern day medicine is only beginning to understand this but still follow the ways of only treating the body without knowing the happiness of mind and soul that is one reason for the reoccurrence of disease specially like tumors, ulcers and cancers. Hence if we concentrate to balance our internal energies the outer body will be healthy the mind Joyful and tranquility of the soul will be a bliss.
